# JOB DESCRIPTION
## Public Relations Officer (PRO) – UAE Government Relations & Legal Compliance

### Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and highly organized **Public Relations Officer (PRO)** to manage all government-related transactions, company documentation, visa and immigration matters, labour-related procedures, licensing requirements, and official communications with UAE government authorities.
The ideal candidate must have **strong practical knowledge of UAE laws, government procedures, labour regulations, immigration requirements, licensing procedures and compliance matters**, together with excellent communication and organizational skills.
A **valid UAE driving licence and own vehicle are mandatory**, as the position requires regular travel to government departments, ministries, free zones, immigration offices, police/RTA-related authorities, municipalities and other official entities.
### Key Responsibilities
#### 1. Government Relations & PRO Services
* Handle day-to-day government relations and official company transactions.
* Represent the company before relevant UAE government authorities where legally permitted and properly authorized.
* Process applications, renewals, amendments, cancellations and other government transactions.
* Maintain professional relationships with government departments and officials.
* Monitor government procedures, requirements, deadlines and regulatory changes.
* Ensure all government submissions are accurate, complete and submitted on time.
* Coordinate with management, HR, finance and other departments regarding government requirements.
#### 2. Immigration & Visa Matters
* Manage employee and dependent visa processes, including applications, renewals, amendments and cancellations.
* Coordinate entry permits, residence permits, Emirates ID and related government procedures.
* Follow up on immigration applications and resolve documentation issues.
* Maintain accurate records of visa validity, expiry dates and employee documentation.
* Coordinate medical fitness, Emirates ID and other related procedures as applicable.
* Ensure immigration-related processes are completed in accordance with applicable UAE requirements.
#### 3. Labour & Employment Compliance
* Maintain practical knowledge of applicable UAE private-sector employment legislation and procedures.
* Coordinate labour-related matters with the **Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MoHRE)** and relevant authorities.
* Assist HR with work permits, employment-related government procedures, employee records and cancellations.
* Monitor relevant labour-law developments and communicate important changes to management.
* Assist in ensuring company procedures comply with applicable UAE employment requirements.
* Maintain proper documentation for labour inspections, government requests and employee-related matters.
* Support management in handling labour-related government correspondence and administrative disputes.
UAE private-sector employment relations are governed principally by Federal Decree-Law No. 33 of 2021 and its implementing regulations, with MoHRE being the competent federal authority for private-sector labour relations.
#### 4. Company Licensing & Government Documentation
* Coordinate trade licence renewals and amendments.
* Follow up on company registration and government approvals.
* Assist with establishment/company card requirements and renewals.
* Coordinate municipality, economic department, free-zone and other authority-related requirements as applicable to the company.
* Maintain records of trade licences, permits, certificates and government approvals.
* Monitor expiry dates and ensure timely renewal of all government documents.
#### 5. UAE Legal & Regulatory Knowledge
The candidate should possess strong **practical working knowledge** of UAE regulatory requirements relevant to the company's activities, including:
* UAE Labour Law and employment regulations.
* MoHRE procedures and requirements.
* Immigration and residency procedures.
* Emirates ID-related procedures.
* UAE company and commercial licensing procedures.
* Government authority procedures and official correspondence.
* Basic knowledge of UAE traffic and vehicle regulations where relevant to company operations.
* Data confidentiality and protection requirements.
* Health and safety and workplace compliance requirements.
* Municipality and other local authority requirements relevant to the company's business.
* Knowledge of applicable free-zone regulations where relevant.
* Ability to research and verify updated UAE legislation and government procedures before advising management.
**Important:** The PRO is expected to provide practical administrative and compliance support and should escalate matters requiring formal legal advice to the company's legal counsel or qualified UAE legal professional.
#### 6. Government Inspections & Compliance
* Coordinate company requirements during government inspections.
* Prepare and organize documents requested by government authorities.
* Follow up on official notices, warnings, requests and correspondence.
* Escalate potential compliance issues to management immediately.
* Maintain a compliance calendar for licences, permits, visas and other government obligations.
* Ensure confidential company and employee information is handled appropriately.
#### 7. Driving & Field Responsibilities
* Travel independently to government offices and other official locations.
* Attend government departments, ministries, immigration centres, service centres, police/RTA-related offices, municipalities, free zones and other authorities as required.
* Deliver and collect official documents when required.
* Maintain professional conduct while representing the company outside the office.
* Use personal vehicle for authorized business travel as per company policy.
### Mandatory Requirements
* Minimum **3–5 years of UAE PRO / Government Relations experience**.
* Strong practical knowledge of UAE government procedures.
* Strong working knowledge of UAE labour and immigration procedures.
* Experience dealing with **MoHRE, immigration/GDRFA or relevant immigration authorities, economic departments, municipalities, free zones and other government entities**.
* **Valid UAE driving licence – Mandatory.**
* **Own car/vehicle – Mandatory.**
* Willingness to travel regularly across the UAE as required.
* Excellent English communication skills.
* Arabic language skills are an advantage.
* Strong computer skills, including MS Office and government portals.
* Excellent follow-up, organization and documentation skills.
* Ability to work independently and manage multiple government transactions simultaneously.
* High level of confidentiality, integrity and professionalism.
### Preferred Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree or diploma in Business Administration, Public Administration, Law, Human Resources or a related field.
* UAE PRO certification/training or relevant government-relations training.
* Previous experience in a corporate, contracting, construction, facilities management, hospitality or other regulated business environment.
* Strong knowledge of UAE government digital platforms and online services.
* Experience working with both mainland and free-zone authorities is an advantage.

### Candidate Profile

The candidate must be comfortable working independently, travelling to government authorities and handling sensitive company and employee documentation with a high level of confidentiality and professionalism.
